Supported home-study
For this course, an online learning path is provided via Toledo. All students follow this learning path and complete the corresponding assignments.
Additionally, 5 mandatory practical sessions are provided for each student. Distance learning students (HAO) are also required to attend these practical sessions. Each practical session is scheduled for 3 hours. All students are expected to assist with the cleanup after all practical sessions.
After the autumn break, a weekly practice session for the skills lab will be provided until the end of the semester, where students can voluntarily come and practice the learned techniques under supervision.
A student may miss a maximum of 2 practical sessions with a valid absence certificate and must join the practical session of the other group of students if possible. If this is not possible, then each missed practical session must be compensated by attending one of the offered practice sessions.
Evaluation
(B-ODISEE-O73356)
Explanation
Assessment | Grading scale |
---|---|
TOTAL | 1-20/20 scale |
This course is assessed based on a combination of continuous evaluation (30% of the total score) and a practical exam (70% of the total score).
The continuous evaluation is a combination of assignments (exercises, audio file, and video file), knowledge tests before the practical sessions, attitude, and a practical handling test during the practicum.
The exam consists of a practical exam during the examination period, where the student must demonstrate various practical skills.
For students following the program via distance learning (HAO), exams usually take place on weekday evenings.
Note: If a student scores 7/20 or less for the continuous evaluation or for the practical exam, the student cannot pass this course. The result of the OPO Skills Lab for Veterinary Nurse will then be reduced to the result of the component with the lowest score. The maximum score for this OPO is then 7/20 in accordance with the education and examination regulations.
Information about retaking exams
There is no possibility of retaking the continuous evaluation (30% of the total score) of the Skills Lab. The scores from EP1 for the continuous evaluation are carried over to EP3.
However, a retake for the practical exam (70% of the total score) is possible.
