  • Basic ecological principles for nature conservation and management
  • Nature management practices
  • Forestmanagement and forest ecology
  • Landschape analysis and small landschape elements

All course material will be provided on Toledo.

Course material is provided online on Toledo and will be exercised and evaluated during practicals, fieldwork, excursions and class sessions. 

All information will be published in detail on Toledo at the start of the academic year.

Evaluation consists of:

  • Speciesknowlegde exams in January (EP1) and June (EP2).
  • Forestmanagement assignemt (sem 1)
  • Small landscape elements assignment (sem 2)
  • Written theory exam in EP2. 

To pass for this course a student must:

  • Not miss more than two practica or excursion (CAM) or make the alternative practicum/excursion assigments (HAO)
  • Attend the (3-day) forest management practicum (CAM and HAO)
  • Take the species knowledge exam in January (passing is not mandatory, taking part however is)
  • Passing the species knowledge exam in June (score > 50%)
  • Succeed on the forest management assigment
  • Succeed on the small landscape elements assignment 
  • Scoring at least 14/20 on the theory exam in June.

A student must re-take the part(s) he did not pass. The type of evaluation may however differ from the original one: this will be discussed and communicated after the second exam period (june). 

The forest management practicum cannot be retaken.
