BIP: BioBeo (B-ODISEE-OPS60A)
Aims
1 The bioeconomy concept will be introduced, discussed and examples of which will be observed by all participants, raising the profile of the SDGs across HEIs.
2 The bioeconomy themes of the BioBeo project will be examined through a multicultural lens through arts-based activities and cultural experiences .
Previous knowledge
The general admission requirements are described in the education and examination regulations.
Studying and living abroad also places additional demands on the student. Therefore, the departing student must have demonstrated that he/she has sufficient command of the working and study language of the foreign institution and that he/she is sufficiently motivated and mature to successfully complete the assignment abroad. The BIP program is provided to the student in advance.
The learning content (courses taken outside Flanders) are recorded in a Learning Agreement, in principle drawn up before the student's departure and approved by the home institution, the host institution and the student.
This course cannot be taken with an exam contract.

Activities
3 ects. BIP: BioBeo (B-ODISEE-OPS67a)
Content
This is a seven-day blended intensive programme funded via ERASMUS. It is an output of the BioBeo Horizon Europe Project. It will be implemented in Rotterdam from March 23 - 29 2025.
30 participants (including facilitators) from Odisee, Hogeschool Rotterdam en Maynooth University will learn about the concept of a bioeconomy. The participants will mainly be future primary and secondary teachers. Through participating in this programme, they will be able to teach about the concept of a bioeconomy to their future pupils in various educational settings across Europe.
BioBeo introduces new thinking and approaches in education on the circular economy across Europe. Students participating in the BioBeo BIP will learn about the Bioeconomy and share knowledge and content regarding how to disseminate this information further. Our aim is to enhance young people’s and citizens‘ involvement in policy-making for bioeconomy and to introduce the bioeconomy concept to schools.

Lesson-supporting PowerPoint presentations and other resources to support lessons will on forehand be displayed in the online learning environment.
Format: more information
There will be blended learning opportunities for the students to share their bioeconomy knowledge and experience with other parties. There will be outdoor learning throughout the course. Biobased resources will only be used throughout the course.

Evaluation is provided by the organizing Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.
The students write a paper for Odisee (evaluated by an Odisee teacher).
