In these course you choose laboratory work in a hospital or medical lab.
The meticulous execution of laboratory work is the focal point of the program.
Each affiliated laboratory offers a wide range of laboratory tests and uses up to date instrumentation.
Students are taught by experienced technologists.
They accurately prepare and execute analyses based on the principles of biomedical technology and integrate quality and safety.
Students keep a diary of the executed assignments and write a biweekly report.

Spring or Autumn Semester
Study load 500h. During the placement period students work five days per week.
Students work in a lab of a Hospital of Medical lab near the Odisee Tecchnology Campus in Ghent from where the traineeship will be managed.

Evaluation of the work placement by the mentor.
The score will be determined by the work placement coordinator, based on an evaluation form.
A student who meets the requirements for a Learning Result obtains a good level for that LR.
If the student obtains a poor or insufficient score for one of the items to which a caesura is applied, the final score can be insufficient at the most.
