Content
- All items of Engels1 should be applied.
- Contract work in team of various English assignments. Also tasks concerning the Belbin test and 9 eternal rules of teamwork are given to gain insight in team formation and the student's strengths and weaknesses.
- Self reflection on team functioning.
- Meeting techniques.

The students work in small groups on 'la création d'une entreprise'. They set up a small imaginary company using a variety of communication skills: holding meetings; negotiating about the division of tasks among team members; brain storming about topics such as a company in front of the class room; recruting new employees; making the decision to purchase a new machine after some phone calls to suppliers; placing an order; formulating a complaint.
Every student writes a report about the various activities and collects these reports in a personal portfolio.

Description
French for Business is not a theoretical course. Exercises are both written and oral and students are asked to work in groups and to participate in roleplays and simulations.
1st semester: 18 contact hours

Absolute assessment score: 4 credits - 20 pts/credit = 80 pts
Absolute assessment score French 2: 2 credits - 20 pts/credit = 40 pts
Absolute assessment score English 2: 2 credits - 20 pts/credit = 40 pts
French 2: permanent assessment of the contract, peer assessment and portfolio assessment, final vocabulary test during the last session.
Assignments can be taken after absence which is validated. Otherwise only a maximum of 50% of the total score can be obtained.
division of scores: oral (presentation) exercises (30%); written exercises (30%); final vocabulary test (30%); general assessment of the complete portfolio (10%).
English 2: permanent assessment,self assessment and peerassessment, individual tests, teamwork. Compulsory attendance during preparatory sessions for teamwork (only then scores can be obtained).
In case a student is absent without a legal validation no scores are given and the assignment cannot be executed.
division of scores: 1/3 (/20) average of individual tests; 1/3 (/20) average team score; 1/3 (/20) personal tasks in accordance with Terms of Agreement.
Common remarks for F2 and E2: Second attempt: The student is given an extra assignment in case teamwork is not possible, hence cannot be assessed.
